Standing with Londoners: Our funding purpose
In 2025, we launched Standing with Londoners, our ten-year funding policy, which focuses on advancing social justice across the Capital. We鈥檙e using our voice, resources and networks to support frontline action and address the root causes of inequality affecting Londoners today.
We recognise that how we fund is as important as what we fund. Our approach is designed to be accessible, fair, and built on trust 鈥� and we continually refine our process with this in mind.
We use a range of funding approaches across our programmes 鈥� from responsive and strategic grants to partnerships, enterprise support and social investment 鈥� depending on what best supports communities.
Our funding programmes
Our programmes are shaped around four visions for a fairer, more inclusive London 鈥� where all communities can be heard, connect and thrive.
Access to Justice
Supporting social welfare advice, social action, and systems change in London to ensure everyone can access their rights and find solutions to problems without facing barriers such as cost, discrimination, or complexity.
Climate & Environmental Justice
Supporting a London where everyone can thrive in a secure, healthy, and sustainable environment, where the communities most affected by climate change and environmental harm actively shape solutions, and where justice, equity, and community leadership drive a greener future.
Economic Justice
Ensuring a fair and equitable distribution of resources, opportunities, and economic benefits in society so that all Londoners can thrive by tackling poverty, reducing income gaps and wealth inequalities.
Racial Justice
Creating a society where inequalities based on race are not only addressed but also transformed. Focusing on collective action to address disparities across areas such as employment, housing, education, mental health, immigration and the criminal legal system.

More than funding
Standing with Londoners isn鈥檛 where our support ends. We continually work alongside funded organisations to build the skills, confidence and connections needed for lasting change. We offer:
Supporting skills development, peer learning and tailored guidance to help organisations grow and adapt.
Free resources and guidance for charities, social enterprises, community groups, and other not-for-profit organisations
Bringing people together to share insights, build relationships and learn from each other.
Using our platform, networks and unique trustee (the City of London Corporation), to influence stakeholders and mobilise resources across the Capital.

We continue to manage several specialist initiatives and partnerships alongside our new funding programmes.
While most of these initiatives are not open to new applications, this page provides an overview of what we fund beyond our main open programmes 鈥� and how these partnerships contribute to change for Londoners.
Ongoing support for our funded organisations
We currently support over 800 live grants through our previous funding policy, Bridging Divides 鈥� work that continues to make a difference for communities across London.
As we transition to Standing with Londoners, we remain committed to our funded organisations. We value the work they do and are working alongside them every day to learn and share insights through the tailored support provided by our Funder Plus programme.
To help maintain momentum in key areas during this transition, we are also delivering Strategic Transition Awards 鈥� one-off investments in sectors where we have been a long-term funder 鈥� that provide ongoing support to strengthen capacity and drive continued progress. These awards are not open for application.
